The Alabama Federal Aid Highway Finance Authority is scheduled to issue $142.8 million bonds this week for their 2016B series. I am rating the bonds AA+ and have provided a free municipal bond report and my credit opinion below.
UPDATE: This deal is now on the muni calendar for the week of March 6th.
This is a very solid credit backed by gasoline sales tax revenue as well as federal government assistance for road and bridge projects. We know President Trump (I am still not used to saying or writing that) has “BIG LEAGUE” plans for roads and bridges in America. These types of bond issues may become more common if Trump has his way.
